Texas For All Expresses Deep Disappointment as Attorney General Impeachment Trial Concludes with Acquittal of Ken Paxton

Texas For All Condemns Partisan Bias in Paxton Trial

Today the Texas for All Coalition, the largest progressive coalition based in Texas, issued a
statement condemning the Senate’s decision to acquit Ken Paxton from his wrongdoing.

Full statement from Texas For All’s Executive Director Sissi Yado is as follows:

Texas For All condemns the Texas Senate’s decision to acquit Ken Paxton. We are profoundly
disappointed to witness Senators driven by partisan interests above doing the right thing by
Texans and addressing the Attorney General’s corruption. This is not justice.

Texas For All is steadfast in our commitment to upholding democracy – we firmly believe that
accountability is a fundamental pillar of a thriving democracy. This verdict is disheartening for
all Texans who place their trust in the justice system to safeguard our democracy against
corruption. It raises serious concerns about the integrity of our public officials and the potential
consequences of their actions.

We commend Senator Nichols and Senator Hancock for showing their dedication to delivering
justice with their votes. And we are saddened to see an agenda driven by an indicted former
President ripple out to Texas Senate chambers. Donald Trump said he wanted Ken Paxton
acquitted and Dan Patrick, his state captain, complied.

Texas For All remains unwavering in our commitment to advocate for a just and accountable
government for every Texan, no matter their race, place or income, and will continue to work
tirelessly with our allies to protect the foundations of our democracy.

We are worth more and we will fight until justice is won.
